The series has won multiple BAFTA awards. The series is produced by Tiger Aspect Productions, and have been subsequently broadcast in more than twenty countries, including Disney Channel's Disney Junior in the United States, and TVOKids in Canada. It also may think people that Charlie is a non-binary character. Charlie slightly looks like a girl despite being a boy, which confuses people. However, this could be ideal for the show's specific audience, as many under 7s tend to see people of age 7+ as "giants".Charlie seems too old to be a 7-year-old, and comes off looking and acting more like that of a preteen. The weird use of words like "completely" and "extremely" can get irritating quickly. Some of the episode titles are unnecessarily long, such as "I've Won, No I've Won, No I've Won!".Lola (even for her age) can sometimes be bratty, annoying, unforgiving, mean-spirited, and dishonest, up to the point where she could be considered the antagonist of certain episodes, such as "I'm Extremely Absolutely Boiling".In fact, the show is generally faithful to the original books. The mix between a collage style of animation and real textures in the background respects its source material. For example, Batcat, Lola's favorite program, is mostly based off of Batman and alley cats. Pays homage to pop culture in a non-annoying manner.Teaches the audience about history, the benefits of learning, the environment, family values and just issues that children go through everyday. No adults are shown on screen, which adds a Peanuts feel to the show. Some emotional episodes, such as "I Will Not Ever Never Forget You, Nibbles", where their pet mouse dies and they throw a tiny funeral for him.Perfect soundtrack that fits the overall tone of the show.Likable characters, such as Charlie, Lola (most of the time), Marv, Lotta, and Soren Lorenson.Just to name a few, the peas turned into "green drops" from Greenland and the mashed potatoes turned into clouds from Mount Fuji. When Lola wouldn't eat certain foods, Charlie turned the foods to unique and mystical foods from different areas.Charlie watches a show called Pirate Squidbones, which sometimes inspires him to play pirates with his friends and family, such as when him and Lola are waiting at the dentist. For example, Lolaland's signature food is biscuits. Lola created her own country called Lolaland, with unique and funny culture.Lola always talks to Soren Lawrenson about her problems. Lola has an imaginary friend called Soren Lawrenson, who only talks when him and Lola are alone.Promotes imagination in very unique ways.Perfect voice acting for the two main characters.Charlie is a great narrator, as he speaks to the viewers on their level, willingly shares his wisdom and respects their intelligence.Incredibly beautiful and colorful animation and background designs.Whether it's trying new foods, getting a haircut or losing a tooth, Charlie's been there and is happy to share his wisdom with little sis. Charlie is always teaching his 4-year-old little sister, Lola, all sorts of things.
